113 Best Affiliate Programs of 2020 (High Paying for Beginners)

Let’s be honest – affiliate marketing is difficult.

Getting traffic to your site.

Developing trust with your readers.

Publishing epic content.

The list goes on and on.

But one of the most important things to do is finding the right affiliate programs.

Many would think – Amazon. But actually, Amazon Affiliates are squeezing affiliate margins from 8% to 3%

Are there alternatives?

I have compiled a list of high payout affiliate offers that are great for beginners (some of which even provide recurring payouts).

I’ve even provided a link to their affiliate pages so you can sign up easily.

Let’s dive into the list.

My Top Pick

Fiverr – Up to $150 CPA

Fiverr is a popular online freelancing platform trusted by big names such as PayPal, Netflix, Google, P&G. They started offering budget freelancing services for $5 but have since expanded into more premium offerings. I have personally used them countless times for small tasks.

Affiliates can choose a dynamic CPA of up to $150 or $10 CPA + 10% revenue share

I chose to put Fiverr at the top because there are so many ways to angle the offer and with everyone going remote (due to COVID) – demand for freelancers is even higher. They are also well known and reputable with 5.5 million people using the platform and a gig bought every 4 seconds.

Cookie Period: 12 months – very long compared to the industry average.

Recurring Affiliate Programs

What if you could get paid over and over again for the same referral? With recurring affiliate programs, this is possible – so if you are looking to build a passive income stream then look no further.

The best part with recurring affiliate programs is that you as the affiliate only make the recommendation once. It is then up to the company to maintain the customer relationship. With the growth of SAAS (Software-As-A-Service) companies – these models are becoming increasingly common.

According to Devsquad, the growth of the SaaS market is 18% annually.

CBD Affiliate Programs

After the unexpected legalization of CBD, CBD brands have boomed over the past few years.

While CBD oil and products are getting more popular by the day, we can’t say the same about the digital environment and legislation surrounding CBD.

CBD is considered a legal gray area. Popular platforms such as Google and Facebook have extreme limitations as to what can be shared, which is where affiliate marketing comes in.

These extreme restrictions mean that CBD sites are more than happy to pay high commissions if you can recommend them to interested buyers.

It is still a very nascent industry but this makes it very profitable and much less competitive than the other industries I’ve mentioned.

According to Forbes, the CBD industry will have an estimated value of US$20 billion by 2024. So there is definitely money to be made as an affiliate.

Here are the best CBD affiliate programs I have seen so far.

People started using beauty products more than 7000 years ago and we will (most likely) still be using them for the many years to come.

Music Affiliate Programs

Music is a billion-dollar industry with a lot of its revenue coming from record sales. However, the digital age has bought massive changes in the music industry.

According to CNN, the sales of music records have fallen steadily since the turn of the century in 2000.

People nowadays prefer the convenience of music and video streaming because they can access their favorite songs whenever and wherever.

So, what does this mean for affiliates? It means commissions from potential music affiliate programs.

Here are the best music affiliate programs I have found.

They pride themselves on having the lowest prices in the market. In fact, they have a “Seen it for less” link on each product page. They guarantee to beat any competitor’s price within 2 hours after submission – this is a fantastic marketing angle you can take advantage of as an affiliate.

Bitcoin & Crypto Affiliate Programs

The affiliate industry is forward-thinking and continually adapts to changes. This is one of the reasons you should get started in crypto affiliate programs.

Cryptocurrencies are revolutionizing the financial markets and making it easier for users to conduct low fee transactions across borders.

New crypto affiliate programs are popping up daily with no signs of slowing down.

If you’re interested in crypto and bitcoin affiliate programs, you, first of all, have to understand how crypto affiliate marketing works to avoid scams.

Here is a list of networks and crypto hardware that I recommend promoting (that are all scam free).

1. Binance – 50% commission on each trade

Binance is one of the largest cryptocurrency trading platforms. The platform has their own coin called BNB which is used to pay for transactions and trading fees.

They recently opened up an affiliate program where you can earn up to 50% commission on each trade. You start off with a 40% commission but this is bumped up to 50% once you have referred 1000 new users.

In order to get into the program, you need a minimum of 50 users to sign up via your link and at least 10% of affiliates to have completed 1 trade.

Cookie Period: You get a 90 day cookie period.

2. Coinbase – 50% commissions for the first 3 months

Touted as the most trusted cryptocurrency wallet in the world, Coinbase allows you to safely store Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ethereum.

They run their affiliate program on the Impact network and provide a 50% commission on trading fees. The issue is that you only gain commissions for 3 months so this may not be a good long term income source.

One added benefit is that you also get paid in the local currency (depending on where you live) instead of in Bitcoin or crypto.

Cookie Period: You will get a 90 days cookie period when you sign-up.

3. LocalBitcoins.com – 40% commission on each trade

LocalBitcoin is an alternative to Coinbase but only allows Bitcoin transactions. They also offer trustee services to guarantee the fairness of each exchange made by clients.

You can earn 40% commissions on each trade.

One of the great things about their program is that you can earn in perpetuity. Compared with Coinbase, it does not have the 3 month rule where they stop payouts after a certain time. This makes it a good passive income source.

Cookie Period: The longest span of the cookie duration is 3 months.

4. Ledger Wallet – 10% commission rates

Ledger is a hardware wallet available in the market certified for its security by ANSSI, the French Cybersecurity office. The wallet is equipped with an encrypted chip, intended to withstand cyber attacks and safely host sensitive cryptographic data such as private keys.

The platform provides a generous payout of 10% for every sale.

You simply need a Bitcoin (BTC) address and an email address to join the program. As a Ledger affiliate, you will receive an affiliate tracking link which can be promoted on your blog or social media. You then get paid out in BTC.

Cookie Period: The program provides a 30-day cookie period.

5. Trezor Wallet – Earn 12% – 15% for each referral

Similar to Ledger Wallet, Trezor allows you to store your crypto offline via a hardware wallet. You access the wallet through a 12-24 word recovery seed, which is a unique password for each client.

Make your first referral and earn 12% – 15% commission.

Trezor is compatible across multiple digital wallet apps and is trusted by large companies such as CNN, Bitstamp, Forbes and Coindesk. It is one of the safest ways of storing your crypto.

Sports Affiliate Programs

When it comes to affiliate marketing, you can never go wrong with sports. You’d be surprised at the amount of money people are willing to part with to enjoy their hobbies. Also, the love for sports extends across borders, giving you a massive audience from the start.

However, you’ve got to know where the money is. Focus on hobby-oriented sports such as cycling and fishing instead of major spectator sports like basketball and football.

Golf, for instance, is worth an estimated $12.55 billion per year. The average golfer spends more than $3,000 every single year on equipment.

A great way to get started is by offering free tips and practice routines as there’s a huge demand for technical knowledge in the golf sub-niche.

1. DraftKings – 40% commission for the first 30 days

DraftKings is a sports betting company allowing users to enter daily and weekly contests and earn money based on individual player performances across five major leagues – MLB, NLH, NFL, NBA and PGA.

They operate on a tiered system with 40% commission on the first 30 days and then 25% subsequently after.

As a globally recognized player, they have around 8 million users on their platform. This makes it an easy sell.

4. FanDuel – Up to $35 per signup

What better way to test you sporting knowledge than to have a fan vs. fan battle? FanDuel is a new and innovative way to play fantasy sports.

They have a novel affiliate model where you can earn via CPA ($25-$35 on signup) and revenue share (35% for the first 2 years).

FanDuel is the only sports affiliate program that pays on both signup and recurring activity. Just be sure that the traffic you send them is not incentivized (as otherwise they will not pay for that lead).

7. Under Armour – Get a commission of 5% per sale

Under Armour is a household name selling everything from sportswear to shoes to gym accessories. Sponsoring huge names such as Steph Curry, Michael Phelps and Tom Brady – I was surprised that they had their own affiliate programme.

They advertise a commission rate of 5%

You know you are advertising a quality brand and product when you sign up with them as an affiliate – come on it’s Under Armour – who doesn’t know them?

Cookie Period: The cookies will expire 30 days after the visitor clicks.

Dating Affiliate Programs

The global dating niche was valued at $6.4 billion in 2017 and is expected to hit $9.2 billion by 2025.

So, what do these values mean?

Humans are social creatures. We have always been.

According to SurveyMonkey, a quarter of all people either use or have used dating sites in the past.

However, it has not always been like this. In the past, people using dating sites seemed unusual. Nowadays, it is an ordinary thing.

The niche is far from being saturated. The most popular dating affiliate programs are even struggling to get enough affiliates.

This is a great opportunity for affiliates.

Here are my favorite dating affiliate programs.

1. eHarmony – Up to $70 CPA

eHarmony’s is another dating website with the intent of creating long-lasting relationships.

Promote the platform today and earn a commission of up to $70. The commission varies on the type of subscription that the customers use.

The best part about this website is the fact that it provides sincere relationship advice and tips and there is even a large archive of blogs and videos teaching users how to improve their relationship.

2. Cupid.com – 75% on each sale

Just like eHarmony, Cupid.com is another online dating brand. They operate 32 different niche dating sites and have helped more than 30 million people find love.

You can earn 75% on each initial sale and are guaranteed timely payouts without a monthly threshold.

Because they operate a variety of niche sites, you can adjust your marketing angle depending on which demographic you are targeting and get higher conversion rates.

Cookie Period: The cookies for this program expire after a period of 30 days.

3. Match.com – Earn 45% commission for every referral

Match.com is another big name on the list. Founded in 1995, they have spent a long time refining their technology and website to provide the best possible user experience.

A 45% commission is up for grabs when you refer someone towards the website and help them sign-up for the services that the site has to offer.

The best feature about the program is that it helps you find automated matches using your data and profile.

Cookie Period: By using this platform you get a cookie span of 30 days.

4. Elite Singles – Get 7$ per application

Elite Singles is a dating website sporting a highly vetted and educated pool of people.  85% of their users hold above-average education and they have over 155,000 new users join the platform each month.

You can earn a commission of $7 per application.

The site is perfect for those who are looking for a life partner with a similar educational background. They also cater towards the more mature 30+ market – this demographic is typically more serious about dating.

Cookie Period: 45 days.

5. FriendFinder – 100% per sale

What Are Affiliate Programs

An affiliate program is an arrangement in which a merchant pays you (the affiliate) a commission for sending traffic and, or sales to their way.

Usually, the affiliate only gets paid when an actual sale happens as a result of your custom link.

There are at least four parties involved in every affiliate program transaction:

  • The merchant
  • The affiliate
  • The customer
  • The affiliate network

There are also three basic types of payment arrangements:

  • Pay-per-sale
  • Pay-per-lead
  • Pay-per-click

Affiliate programs exist to ease the burden of advertising from the merchant. Instead of potentially losing money from underperforming ads, they only have to pay an affiliate if a sale goes through.

How Do You Join An Affiliate Programme?

There are two main ways of joining an affiliate program.

You can either use an affiliate marketplace or use an in-house affiliate program.

In-house affiliate programs run on the company’s website. To find these, google a brand + affiliate program, for example, Sony affiliate program.

On the other hand, an affiliate marketplace consists of multiple merchants offering their links in one secure network. The beauty of such is you’re able to promote a variety of products, view your reports, and get your commissions all in one place.

What Are The Prerequisites of Joining An Affiliate Programme?

There are a couple of things you should take care of before promoting an affiliate program.

  1. First and foremost, you need to have a way to receive your payments. A bank account and PayPal are a good starting point, but the more payment mediums you have, the better.
  2. A well-designed website is essential if you want to take up affiliate marketing. Just make sure that your website has an SSL certificate.
  3. There is one more thing, get a business email address and have it connected to your domain.
  4. An email autoresponder is not a requirement, but it will make running your business a lot easier from day one.

What Should You Look For In A High Paying Affiliate Program?

The last thing you want is earning more than a thousand dollars tirelessly promoting a product only to realize you can’t get paid, simply because there’s no available payment method for your country. Here is what you should look out for.

1. Payout methods and minimum payout

Many beginner affiliate marketers quit because of minimum payouts. It doesn’t matter how hard you work, if there’s a minimum payment threshold and you’re under that, you won’t get paid.

2. Commission rate

The commission rate is the percentage of a sale that you expect in return for referring a new customer to an advertiser. It ranges from the low digits to 50% and even more.

3. Earnings per click

In affiliate marketing, EPC is concerned with the total commission generated for a certain number of clicks. You calculate this by taking the total earnings you have made over some time and dividing them by the number of clicks you got in the same period.

4. Cookie length

The cookie length refers to the amount of time that a cookie remains on a user’s machine after they have clicked your link. It usually ranges somewhere between 30 and 90 days.

What this means is that if someone clicks your link today and buys the product one month later, you still get paid.

Keep an eye out for some affiliate programs that take advantage of unsuspecting beginners by offering a much shorter cookie length.

5. Network/program reputation

Just like any other online opportunity, you should observe due diligence when scouting the web for suitable products to promote.

A lot of newer independent programs promise big commissions only to play cat and mouse when it comes to paying their affiliates.

Since they’re new and don’t have a reputation to maintain, they don’t mind bad reviews. After all, people who join these programs don’t take the time to research.

Affiliate Marketing Tips

Affiliate marketing can be a great source of revenue. Below are a few tips to help you get started in this multi-billion-dollar industry.

1. Know your audience

It’s as simple as that. The best way to use affiliate programs is only to advertise products that match the interest of your audience.

For example, if you’re a simulation racing streamer, don’t promote antivirus software just because your viewers most probably have computers. They will be more interested in racing wheels and gloves.

2. Be trustworthy

You need to build a relationship with your audience based on genuine content.

Visitors will know when you are promoting something only with profit in mind.

Remember that your repeat visitors are essential for a sustainable affiliate business.

3. Be helpful

Don’t just put a link to a monitor and hope some viewers will stumble upon it and make a purchase.

Take time to create a detailed review.

If possible, include a personal testimonial and share your link, pointing them in the right direction should they decide to act on the information.

4. Be transparent

Honesty and integrity are essential in building the trust of your audience.

Your audience will appreciate your honesty and even feel good about contributing to some of your earnings.

5. Choose programs carefully

You should dedicate a fair amount of time to selecting the affiliate products and services to promote.

Digital information products are some of the best selling.

Also, consider promoting higher-priced products as they bring in more money.

Products that renew monthly are a great way to make your income more predictable.

What Are Affiliate Networks?

Affiliate networks are platforms that act as middlemen between advertisers and affiliates.

Through a single portal, Advertisers establish their affiliate program, and affiliates can search the network to find suitable programs to promote.

In essence, both advertisers and affiliates need to sign up to the network. The network then acts as a manager for both parties.

That way, affiliates don’t have to get into direct contact with the advertisers.

Why Work With Affiliate Networks?

As an affiliate, working with networks as opposed to in-house programs is less work and more convenient.

For starters, it’s easier to trust an established affiliate network than hundreds of random independent affiliate programs.

An affiliate network will also have better software and a reliable invoicing and billing system in place. Also, since you can promote different programs in one platform, you’ll not need to learn how to use lots of affiliate marketing software.

How Do You Choose the Best Affiliate Networks?

Which affiliate network is right for your business depends on a couple of critical issues.

Below are four things to consider when choosing an affiliate network.

1. Product type

There are many affiliate networks out there, many of which specialize in specific niches such as fitness, beauty, etc.

Finding a program that offers products that your audience might be interested in is very important.

2. Ease of use

When starting in affiliate marketing, you should make things as easy as possible for yourself.

You shouldn’t need a degree in rocket science to upload a banner or create an affiliate link. The good thing is most affiliate networks have taken note of that.

3. Support

Just like any other business, things may go wrong once in a while and the last thing you want to hear when inquiring about the previous month’s missing report is the IT guy isn’t available.

A dedicated affiliate manager, in addition to customer support, is essential.

4. Commission & payments

After finding out how much you’re going to get paid, you need to know when the cash will be coming your way.

Many affiliate programs are Net 30, but some are Net 60 and others even Net 90.

What this means is some affiliates get paid 30 days after making a sale, but others wait for up to 90 days. That’s a long time to wait for your cash, remember you have bills to pay.

What Are the Best Affiliate Networks?

Affiliate marketing is a fantastic way to turn traffic into cash. It all depends on your ability to find quality products that your visitors are interested in.

To help, we’ve listed four of the best affiliate networks. Together, they’ll give you access to thousands of merchants and limitless products.

1. ShareASale

ShareASale is one of the largest and most popular affiliate networks out there.

While Amazon Associates is focused solely on Amazon products, ShareASale hosts products for more than 4,500 merchants. Over 1,000 of them are exclusive to the network.

From the ShareASale dashboard, you can register to all the merchants you want, generate links, and view the statistics. Keep in mind that it’s not all automatic. You will have to sign up and be approved by each merchant individually.

If you’re looking for a reliable network offering a wide variety of options, ShareASale has you covered. Here you get to choose between promoting services, SAAS, and physical goods.

Pros

  • Good reputation – the company has been around for two decades and works with a lot of reputable brands
  • Safe and secure – ShareASale has zero customer complaints on file and has as an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB)
  • Plenty of opportunities – there are over 3900 affiliate programs in 40 different categories
  • Reliable payout schedule – payment is on the 20th of each month as long as you have more than $50 in your account

Cons

  • The dashboard is a bit old fashioned

2. Lemonads

Founded in 2007, Lemonads has grown to be one of the largest affiliate networks.

One of the perks of working with Lemonads is weekly on-time payments.

Very few networks can match that. The company has also partnered with more than 10,000 businesses. You won’t be running out of products to promote anytime soon.

Does that seem overwhelming? Don’t fret, Lemonads uses advanced technology to connect merchants with fitting affiliates.

In case you are still skeptical, keep in mind that Lemonads assigns dedicated account managers from day one so you will never walk alone. They also have anti-fraud systems in place and multi-language support.

Pros

  • Quick payments – no other company in the business can beat Lemonads at this
  • Exclusive offers – Lemonads offers more than 1500 such offers
  • High payouts – affiliates get a higher ROI since they have a direct relation with advertisers
  • In-depth reporting – one glance shows you all links that are working
  • Good customer service – Lemonads takes customer satisfaction seriously

Cons

  • Not as many offers as some networks.

3. CJ

Formerly known as Commission Junction, CJ Affiliate is yet another established affiliate marketing network.

Founded in 1998, CJ is part of Alliance Data Systems, a Fortune 500 company. Just like Lemonads, CJ has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

CJ is one of the largest affiliate networks, as it gives you the chance to connect with more than 3000 merchants.

Payments are made monthly but sorry if you prefer PayPal as CJ only pays via direct deposit or checks sent to your mail.

CJ is a feature-rich affiliate network boasting of up-to-the-minute analytics with its real-time reporting system. The minimum payment for direct deposit is $50, and cheques are $100.

Pros

  • Real-time reporting
  • A lot of big and small merchants to choose from
  • There is a deep link generator bookmarklet, which makes generating links a breeze
  • Offers are easy to compare in list form
  • The tracking codes are simple to view

Cons

  • Bulky site. It is not beginner-friendly

4. Rakuten

Rakuten Marketing (formerly known as LinkShare) is a popular affiliate network that has been around since 1996, which makes it older than all other programs in this list.

Rakuten Marketing has a decent network of merchants, standing at about 1000. This figure seems meager in comparison to the likes of ShareASale, but Rakuten has an ace up their sleeve.

Rakuten’s smaller network packs a punch as it consists of some of the largest merchants.

Some of them include:

  • Walmart
  • Papa Johns
  • Macy’s
  • Best Buy

Even though Rakuten’s list of brands is shorter than the rest, you can still find offers in most niches. The network also offers payments via direct deposit, cheque, and PayPal. Their minimum payout amount is $50.

Pros

  • Access to big merchants such as Best Buy and Walmart
  • Availability of deep linking options
  • Ad rotation – this feature comes in handy when optimizing your ads

Cons

  • Reporting is easy to access and use
  • Only 1000 partners
  • You can only report customer issues by form
  • The registration process is tricky
  • No direct contact

Some networks didn’t make it to this list, but they deserve a mention. These are Amazon Associates,Viglink, Pepperjam Network, Awin, Avangate, MaxBounty, and Clickbank. MaxBounty offers weekly payouts and a $1,000 bonus for affiliates who make $1,000 or more within their first three months. Awin focuses more on British and EU merchants in case you’re interested.

Summary

“Affiliate marketing has made businesses millions and ordinary people millionaires.” Bo Bennett. Founder and CEO of eBookIt.com.

Affiliate marketing is the modern version of getting a finder’s fee when you refer a customer.

Only now, you are referring hundreds of people to some of the biggest brands. Not to mention all this is at the convenience of your laptop.

You’re now familiar with more than a hundred great programs. It’s now time to choose an affiliate network and start chasing your dreams to become the next Pat Flynn or John Chow.

Adding a new income stream sounds like a headache, but affiliate marketing is simple to set up and automate. It is one of the fastest and easiest ways to make money online.

Fastest and easiest? Well, yes. But only if you do it correctly.

Observe due diligence when choosing an affiliate program or network. Check out the commission rates, average order values (AOVs), and cookie durations. Ideally, you’ll want to be selecting a niche that you are familiar with.

Offering informative content to your audience is one of the best ways to build trust and eventually sell them on programs you are promoting.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. In affiliate marketing, that step involves creating your affiliate website (usually a blog).

If you want to do that, check out my guide here of how I did it
